Apply for steering committee membership. Tell us how you would like to get involved, and let us know what you can offer!
We are currently seeking folks with skills in the following areas:
exhibit planning/curation
accounting (preference for MPA or MBAs with nonprofit experience)
fundraising, development, and/or grantwriting
contracting, architecture, and urban design
legal matters
graphic design
volunteer management
diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) management
event planning (educational, interactive, adult, family-friendly, inclusive, in-person and virtual)
research in cat behavior, history, art, human and cat health, and cat rescue/TNR
artist relations
vendor partnership relations
retail and operations (experience in museum gift shops strongly preferred; experience in art, book, and/or cat/pet retail preferred)
website/SEO
communications and marketing:
newsletters
social media
photography
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion at every step of our organizational planning. At this time, steering committee membership is voluntary and is not a paid position.

If you are interested in helping out with any of the above but are unable to commit to joining the steering committee, there are other ways you can be a part of making the museum a reality.
We welcome offers to volunteer your:

funding or pledges of future funding (note: the Cat Museum of New York City is not yet a registered nonprofit; non-tax-deductible donations may be made through PayPal or check via our fiscal sponsor, the Independent Media Institute. Read more here.)
